Our Latest Innovation – Content Collections
April 30th, 2024Welcome to our May edition of Via Satellite. In this edition we celebrate the winners of our Satellite Executive of the Year (SEOTY) and Satellite Technology of the Year (STOTY) awards. Certainly there was a quite a buzz at SATELLITE 2024, and the competition for the awards was as intense as it has ever been. In this edition we interview our new SEOTY, Mike Greenley from MDA Space and interview a number of people involved in our industry involved with the 3GPP NTN standards (STOTY). Congratulations all the nominees and our winners for another stellar year for our awards.
One thing Via Satellite always prides itself on is being at the forefront of innovation in terms of content and intelligence to the satellite industry. Over the last few years, we have bought you great community-based features such as ’10 Hottest Companies in Satellite’, ‘Celebrating Women in Satellite’, our On Orbit Podcast, Thursday Morning Conversations to name a few.
Our latest innovation is crafting Content Collections for your enjoyment and interest. For those of you who are interesting in all things Viasat, we have a content collection dedicated to them. On Earth Day, we released a collection looking at climate change and satellite. We have had an end users collection where we interview key end users from maritime, aviation, agriculture and government about their satellite needs. Also, on International Women’s Day this year, we released a collection with some of our best interviews with high profile women in satellite. These collections are already proving popular, so you should check them out. We will be adding more soon. Feel free to suggest your thoughts and ideas for new collections also.
Speaking of climate change, Abbey Weltman who has been working with Via this year has written a great article on satellite’s role in fighting climate change. It is well worth a read. We also welcome back Shaun Waterman who wrote a great story talking to a number of key maritime end users about how they might use satellite in the future.
We know it has been a busy time lately with big shows such as SATELLITE 2024 and Space Symposium. We hope these have been productive. It is hard to believe we are fast approaching the mid-point of the year already.
