Celebrating the Satellite Community
February 18th, 2025
Over the years, Via Satellite’s March edition has become a celebration of the satellite industry. Every year, we recognize the nominees for Satellite Executive and Satellite Technology of the Year, highlight some of the top companies in the sector, and feature the stories of women taking the industry to new heights.
I want to thank our community of readers for embracing the Exec and Tech of the Year awards, and Celebrating Women in Satellite. We received more high-quality nominations and submissions from the community this year than ever before.
When I started Celebrating Women in Satellite in 2022 I had no idea that it would be able to highlight the stories of more than 100 women in the industry! What makes the feature so special is that it’s not a collection of resumes, it’s the real-life stories of women making an impact, told in the words of their colleagues and friends.
This year also marks the seventh year of 10 Hottest Companies in Satellite. We challenge ourselves every year to think beyond the most obvious players and since it started in 2019, we have highlighted 65 companies over seven lists. Only a handful of companies have made the list more than once.
And the final feature of the year is very timely for the SATELLITE show — breaking down the competitive landscape among the top operators, and how their businesses are impacted by industry consolidation. Longtime freelancer Adrienne Harebottle did a great job of taking the pulse of the industry here.
We’d love to see you at SATELLITE in D.C. in March! The Via team is hosting a happy hour in our booth in the exhibit hall on Wednesday, March 12 at 4 p.m. We hope to see you there.
